A Dermaplane procedure is a type of exfoliation that uses a sterile, surgical blade to scrape away and remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face. The process can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, improve skin texture and tone, and give skin a smoother, brighter appearance. It can also help to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and other skin imperfections. During a Dermaplane procedure, a medical professional will gently scrape away the top layer of skin using a sterile, single-use scalpel. The procedure is non-invasive and generally takes around 30 minutes.
